A special CBI court in Guwahati has framed charges on 15 counts against six accused in the Manipur ethnic clash case from May 2023. The charges include gang-rape, murder, and rioting, as well as offenses under the SC/ST Act. The incident involved three women being stripped naked, with two allegedly gang-raped, and family members of one victim killed. The accused pleaded not guilty. The next hearing is scheduled for January 16, requiring the personal presence of all accused.
