Three villagers died and two were injured when a coal roof collapsed at an abandoned BCCL colliery in Kulti. The victims were illegally extracting coal for livelihood. Rescue operations were conducted by villagers, CISF, Kulti Police, and BCCL officials. The BJP highlighted the lack of employment opportunities as a reason for the villagers' actions, while local MLA Dr. Ajoy Poddar demanded compensation for the families.
