Police in Greater Noida arrested Ankit Kumar on Tuesday for the murder of a 27-year-old woman, Deepa, whose body was found under a parked car. Investigators stated the motive was Deepa's refusal of Kumar's marriage proposal. Kumar was apprehended after an alleged exchange of fire with police, sustaining injuries. He reportedly confessed to strangling Deepa on January 11 and attempting to stage the death as an accident. The victim's brother reported her missing after she did not return from work. Stolen items and a weapon were recovered from the accused.
