
In Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, Lokayukta police apprehended Santoshi Lal Batham, an in-charge superintendent engineer of the Public Health Engineering department, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh. The bribe was reportedly part of a larger demand for commission on pending payments related to the Jal Jeevan Mission. Batham allegedly instructed the complainant, a contractor, to give the money to his driver, Phool Singh Yadav, who was also apprehended. The investigation is ongoing.
