A 23-year-old third-year dental student, Yashaswini, was found dead by suicide at her Bengaluru residence. Her family alleges that college management, including a lecturer, harassed and humiliated her for not participating in a seminar after taking leave for eye pain. This alleged mistreatment, according to her mother, drove her to take her own life. Following her death, aggrieved students protested outside the morgue. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
