
M.C. Anoop, the first accused in the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case, has been granted 20 days of parole from Kannur Central Jail. Prison authorities described the parole as a routine procedure according to rules, granted after serving three months. This follows other convicts in the case also receiving parole. The opposition has criticized the government over parole granted to convicts in the case.
