A Mayiladuthurai district sessions court has sentenced three men, including a history-sheeter, to life imprisonment for a murder that occurred on May 7, 2020. The prosecution stated that a quarrel over alleged obscene language escalated into an attack with a knife, resulting in the death of Mariselvam. The police registered a murder case, investigated, and arrested the accused. Following a trial, the court found the three guilty and they have been lodged in Central Prison, Cuddalore.
