
Five individuals have been arrested in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, following a violent anti-coal mining protest where a woman police constable was allegedly assaulted. The protest, opposing the Gare Pelma Sector-I coal block allotted to Jindal Power Limited, turned violent when police attempted to clear a road blockade. A video purportedly showing the constable being attacked and her uniform torn surfaced, leading to widespread condemnation. A case has been registered under stringent sections of the Indian Penal Code and IT Act.
