A 21-year-old security guard in Mumbai's Andheri East was arrested for allegedly robbing and brutally assaulting a 22-year-old MSc student in her apartment on December 29. The guard, identified as Anil Yadav, reportedly forced his way into the victim's flat, demanding money and assaulting her until she lost consciousness. He then ransacked her belongings before fleeing. The victim was found by a neighbor after regaining consciousness. The arrest occurred within 24 hours of the incident.
