Five individuals, including a man impersonating an IAS officer, were apprehended by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the Rupaideha border crossing between India and Nepal. The group was attempting to enter Nepal in an Innova Crysta equipped with a red-blue beacon and hooter. During questioning, one occupant claimed to be an IAS officer, but investigations by SSB and police revealed this to be false. The arrested individuals, all from Lucknow, admitted they were traveling to Nepal to gamble. Authorities seized cash, mobile phones, and other electronic devices.
