A 16-year-old boy, Anuj Kumar, was fatally shot by accidental gunfire from his father's service weapon in Kishtwar district on Saturday night. The incident occurred while his father, a Village Defence Guard (VDG), was cleaning his gun at their home. The boy, a Class X student, died instantly. Police have seized the weapon for forensic examination and are recording statements from family members as inquest proceedings continue to determine the exact circumstances of the accidental discharge.
