The suspect reportedly predicted the woman would face misfortune and lose something valuable, then stole her phone to 'prove' his prophecy. When confronted, he claimed the theft confirmed his prediction. Police found the phone hidden in his bag. The fortune-teller confessed, citing a need for New Year money, and claimed it was his first offense. The phone was returned to the victim.
