Pakistani National Accused of Securing UP Govt Teaching Job with Forged Documents

Police in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur have filed an FIR against a woman, Mahira Akhtar, alias Farzana, for allegedly obtaining a government teaching job by concealing her Pakistani nationality and using forged documents. An internal inquiry revealed she secured employment in the basic education department approximately 30 years ago. She married a Pakistani national in 1979, acquired citizenship, divorced, and later remarried an Indian man in India around 1985. Following the discovery of her Pakistani citizenship, she was suspended and dismissed from her teaching position. An investigation is ongoing, and no arrest has been made.
