Guwahati Police reported significant improvements in crime statistics for 2025, with a notable decrease in registered cases and pending cases. The charge-sheet filing rate increased to 68.34%, and the overall conviction rate rose to 28.5%. Under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the conviction rate reached 86.84%. Property crimes and vehicle thefts also saw substantial reductions compared to previous years, with increased recovery rates for stolen goods and vehicles. Police attributed these gains to data-driven policing and intensified enforcement.
