A police inspector in charge of a police station was arrested by vigilance officers while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a liquor vendor. The money was recovered, and an additional Rs 5 lakh in cash was found at his government quarters. A case has been registered against the officer under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
