The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Punjab Police have detained notorious drug trafficker Sandeep Singh alias Chatha under the PITNDPS Act. Singh, involved in seven criminal cases including three under the NDPS Act since 2013, has been linked to cross-border drug trafficking operations. In a 2022 operation, authorities dismantled two drug manufacturing labs, seizing 40 kg of heroin and other substances, arresting 22 syndicate members. Singh is believed to have handled large-scale heroin consignments across states.
