The CBI has arrested Rajaram Mohanrao Chennu, joint director of the Central Power Research Institute in Bengaluru, and Atul Khanna, director of Sudhir Group of Companies, in a Rs 9.5 lakh bribery case. Chennu is accused of accepting bribes for favorable test reports on electrical equipment. Searches at Chennu's residence uncovered over Rs 3.76 crore in cash, including foreign currency, jewelry, and documents. The arrests and searches occurred on January 9, 2026, following the registration of an FIR.
