Coimbatore District (Rural) Police reported a decrease in crimes against women and children in 2025, with 314 cases compared to 371 in 2024. Cases under the POCSO Act also saw a decline. Hurt cases decreased due to enhanced beat patrols, including tech-driven 'Smart Khakis'. Murder motives were not attributed to rowdyism or communal issues. Property offense cases led to significant recovery. Fatal road accidents declined, with substantial fines collected for traffic violations. Drug peddling cases and seizures increased, while highway robberies reportedly ceased after a new check post was established.
