
Over ₹52,976 crore has been lost to cyber frauds in India over the past six years, according to data from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). The National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal recorded nearly ₹20,000 crore lost in 2025 alone, with investment schemes accounting for the largest portion. Financial crimes, including digital arrests, online scams, and phishing, have seen a rise. States like Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana reported significant losses and a high volume of complaints.
