A 36-year-old man allegedly shot and killed his wife, Soni, inside a police station in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday. The incident occurred days after the man, Anoop, had filed a complaint accusing his wife of eloping with another man and taking cash and jewelry. Police had detained Soni on Sunday. While legal formalities were underway on Monday, Anoop reportedly produced a country-made pistol and shot her. He was apprehended at the scene. Two police officers have been suspended for alleged negligence.
