
Chennai's Cyber Crime Police Stations successfully recovered and returned over ₹25.97 crore to victims of cyber fraud in 2025. In December alone, ₹1.04 crore was recovered from 88 cases out of 192 complaints received. Police efforts involve identifying cybercriminals, freezing accounts, and using legal procedures to credit recovered funds back to victims. The city operates four Cyber Crime Police Stations across different zones, supported by Cyber Crime Cells in all police districts.
