US authorities have arrested 18-year-old Christian Sturdivant in North Carolina for allegedly plotting an ISIS-inspired knife-and-hammer attack on New Year's Eve. Investigators say Sturdivant pledged allegiance to ISIS and planned to target a grocery store and fast-food restaurant. He was on the FBI's radar since 2022 and was communicating with undercover agents. A handwritten document outlining attack plans was recovered from his home. The FBI stated the public was never in harm's way.
