Police state the couple argued after consuming alcohol, leading Kumar to assault Arti, who later died. Kumar reportedly stayed in the room with her body overnight before alerting hotel staff the next morning, claiming she was unresponsive. Post-mortem examination revealed severe injuries consistent with a brutal assault. The accused claims the argument began after the victim slapped him.
