An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sarpanch, Jarmal Singh, was shot dead by unidentified assailants at a wedding in Amritsar. Singh, from Valtoha village in Tarn Taran district, was attending a ceremony at the Marigold Resort when attackers, posing as guests, opened fire at close range, hitting him in the head. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Police are investigating, reviewing CCTV footage, and have stated that Singh had survived previous assassination attempts. The motive remains unclear, with possibilities including political rivalry or extortion demands.
