A 32-year-old contractual linesman for PSPCL, Sunil Kumar, was electrocuted while repairing an 11kv line near Dera Bassi. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon when reverse current reportedly passed through the wires during maintenance work, for which a permit had been obtained. Kumar, a resident of Ganauli village, is survived by his wife and two children. A preliminary investigation by PSPCL officials suggests the reverse current may have originated from an industrial unit, though power supply was stopped for repairs. The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem.
