Bengaluru South Division cybercrime police have registered an FIR against unknown individuals for creating fake social media accounts using the identity of Jayanagar BJP MLA C.K. Ramamurthy. The accounts, on Facebook and Instagram, allegedly solicited money, sent misleading and abusive messages, and were used to contact the public, including sending a "good morning" message to a woman. The MLA claims these actions aim to damage his reputation and public standing, suggesting a political motive. Police are investigating under the IT Act for cheating by personation.
