Belthangady police arrested 42-year-old Ummar Sharief on Saturday, January 3, seizing 55.48 grams of MDMA valued at approximately ₹5.54 lakh. The drugs, along with a car and four cigarettes, were confiscated from Sharief, who was found in a parked car in Kuvettu village. He reportedly procured the MDMA from an individual named Naushad. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
