A firecracker explosion during a church celebration in Ernakulam, Kerala, resulted in one death and one injury. The incident occurred at St Peter's and St Paul's Church in Kadathy near Muvattupuzha when a firecracker frame was being filled with explosives. Ravi died from critical injuries, while James sustained severe burns but is in stable condition. Police have registered a case against the parish priest and church office-bearers under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Indian Explosives Act.
