In Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district, the forest department neutralized the ninth wolf following a prolonged operation. This action comes after a series of fatal wolf attacks between September and December 2025, which resulted in 13 deaths, primarily children, and injured dozens. Efforts to capture the animal alive failed, leading to the decision to neutralize it due to the imminent threat to villagers. The wolf's carcass was sent for a post-mortem examination.
