
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Arpit Rathore, identified as a key accused in the digital arrest and money laundering investigation concerning Ludhiana industrialist SP Oswal. Rathore was apprehended on December 31 and sent to ED custody. The ED alleges Rathore played a significant role in Oswal's digital arrest, where fraudsters impersonated CBI officers and extorted ₹7 crore. The agency also stated Rathore facilitated international money transfers for cybercrimes, with a total of ₹1.73 crore defrauded from others. An accomplice, Rumi Kalita, was previously arrested.
