Nigeria's drug enforcement agency arrested 22 Indian crew members of the merchant ship MV Aruna Hulya at Lagos's main port on January 2. The seizure followed the discovery of 31.5 kilograms of cocaine aboard the vessel, which originated from the Marshall Islands. Nigeria is considered a trafficking hub for drugs bound for Europe and Africa. This incident follows similar arrests of Filipino sailors in November for cocaine smuggling.
