In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, two sisters, Nidhi (21) and Laxmi (19), died after being electrocuted by an immersion rod used to heat water. The incident occurred in the Rampuri locality when Nidhi accidentally touched the rod, and Laxmi was electrocuted while attempting to help her sister. Police are treating the incident as an accident. Uttar Pradesh Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal visited the grieving family to offer condolences.
