The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested Kandararu Rajeevaru, the chief priest (Tantri) of the Sabarimala Temple, in connection with the alleged theft and misappropriation of gold artifacts. The arrest is based on statements from prime accused Unnikrishnan Potty and former Travancore Devaswom Board president A Padmakumar, who allege Rajeevaru had close ties with Potty and gave "silent permission" for controversial gold replating outside temple norms. Rajeevaru is the 11th person arrested in the case, which is being monitored by the Kerala High Court.
