In Mumbai's Powai, a 40-year-old man was allegedly threatened and robbed after meeting someone from the dating app Grindr on New Year's Eve. The complainant reported being taken to an isolated area by a man he met online, where three others joined and verbally abused him. The group allegedly extorted ₹20,000 from him after threatening him with a broken beer bottle and false accusations. Police have registered a case against four individuals.
