In Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi, a woman was shot dead by her husband inside a police station on Monday. The victim, Soni, had reportedly eloped with another man days earlier, prompting her husband, Anoop, to file a complaint. Police traced and brought Soni to the station for legal formalities. While she was at the station, Anoop arrived, produced a country-made pistol, and fatally shot her. The accused has been arrested, and two police personnel were suspended for negligence. An investigation into the security lapse is underway.
