The All Academics of Delhi Teachers' Association (AADTA) has objected to the University of Delhi's (DU) mandatory Aadhaar-based biometric attendance system, citing concerns that it contradicts earlier assurances and ignores the diverse nature of academic work. DU stated that non-compliance could lead to salary non-processing from January 2026, as many staff members have not yet completed biometric registration. The association argues existing regulations already cover academic accountability and that the new system amounts to coercion.
