Karnataka has seen a significant surge in demand for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses, with all available seats filled for the past two years, a stark contrast to previous years with numerous vacancies. Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil noted this growing interest, attributing it partly to a lack of new dental colleges and seat increases. Factors like delays in medical seat allotments and court cases may also be contributing to the shift, while seats in other health-related courses like Pharmacy and AYUSH remain unfilled.
