The director of higher education in Punjab has ordered government-aided colleges to appoint full-time principals within one month, by February 6. Colleges without regular principals must start the appointment process immediately, as communication from officiating principals will no longer be accepted. This directive follows previous instructions and concerns that the lack of regular principals has negatively impacted academic and administrative functions. Panjab University has also issued show-cause notices to 42 affiliated colleges for similar delays.
