The Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) began in 1926 as the Commercial College in Delhi's Daryaganj with 12 students, operating from a rented house. Renamed in 1951, it moved to its current Delhi University campus in 1954. Founded by industrialist Sir Shri Ram, the institution aimed to foster economic self-reliance and produce entrepreneurs crucial for building a modern, independent India, viewing commerce education as a national necessity.
