Eminent Assamese composer and singer Samar Hazarika, the youngest brother of legendary musician Bhupen Hazarika, passed away at his Guwahati residence on Tuesday at the age of 75 after a brief illness. Hazarika, who was among ten siblings, contributed significantly to Assamese music through radio, albums, and films, carrying forward his family's rich musical legacy. He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter. Assam's Chief Minister and Union Minister expressed their grief over his demise, highlighting his indelible contributions to the state's cultural landscape.
