Christopher Nolan is set to direct a film adaptation of Homer's epic poem, The Odyssey, with a planned release date of July 17. The poem, composed over two thousand years ago, recounts the ten-year journey of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, as he navigates numerous dangers and temptations to return home after the Trojan War. Upon his return, Odysseus must also confront over a hundred suitors vying for his wife Penelope's hand. The epic tale features gods, goddesses, mythical creatures, and spans over ten thousand lines of verse.
