A painting by artist Tom Vattakuzhy has been withdrawn from the 'Edam' exhibition at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale following objections from Christian and Catholic groups who alleged it hurt religious sentiments. The Kochi Biennale Foundation stated that the curator and artist decided to withdraw the artwork to respect public sentiments and for the common good. The exhibition venue, which had been temporarily closed due to petitions concerning the painting, has since reopened.
