Meghalaya filmmaker Pradip Kurbah's Khasi-language film "Ha Lyngkha Bneng - The Elysian Field" opened the 11th Jaffna International Cinema Festival on December 30. The dystopian drama, set in 2047 and exploring themes of survival, memory, and community bonds in a depopulated world, has garnered international acclaim. It previously won multiple awards at the Kolkata International Film Festival and the NETPAC prize at the Moscow International Film Festival. The festival highlighted strong Indian participation and the role of cinema in building cultural bridges.
