Flash floods and landslides in Indonesia's North Sulawesi province have killed at least 16 people, with three to four others still missing. The disaster, triggered by torrential monsoon rains on Monday, submerged villages, damaged or destroyed over 140 houses, and displaced hundreds of residents who are now in temporary shelters. Rescue efforts are ongoing, hampered by damaged roads and disrupted communications. Authorities have declared a 14-day emergency response period to facilitate aid and repairs.
