A new directive prohibits the in-flight usage of power banks on flights due to safety concerns, specifically fire hazards. Passengers are still permitted to carry power banks in their hand baggage. However, they must not use them to charge devices once the aircraft has taken off. Many aircraft now offer USB ports for charging needs.
