A series of earthquakes, described as an 'earthquake swarm,' jolted parts of Gujarat's Rajkot district between Thursday evening and Friday afternoon. While official figures vary, between 12 and 21 tremors with magnitudes ranging from 1.4 to 3.8 were recorded, primarily near Upleta. The seismic activity triggered panic among residents, leading some to seek refuge in open fields and prompting the closure of schools in old buildings as a precaution. No loss of life or property damage has been reported.
