Central Railway will introduce 14 new AC local train services on the CSMT-Panvel Harbour line in Mumbai starting January 26, 2026. These services will replace existing non-AC trains, increasing the total AC local services under Central Railway to 94. The overall number of suburban services will remain 1,820. This move fulfills passenger demand for air-conditioned travel on the Harbour corridor, which previously saw AC services withdrawn in May 2022 due to low ridership.
