A fire on Wednesday extensively damaged the historic 200-year-old Junga Palace in Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh, once the residence of the Keonthal princely state rulers. No casualties were reported as the palace was unoccupied. Fire tenders battled the blaze, which reportedly started near a sacred installation and spread through the old wooden structure. While the building sustained significant damage, the exact cause and total loss are under investigation. Religious assets were also reportedly destroyed.
