Chennai Metro Rail has increased train frequency on a high-demand stretch of its Phase I network, reducing wait times to three minutes during peak hours. This adjustment, from a 3-3-6 minute pattern to 3-3-3 minutes, adds 30 more trips daily, bringing the total to 752. Officials state this change aims to better serve commuters, particularly office-goers, on the busy Washermanpet to Alandur route.
