The Indian Navy Sailing Vessel (INSV) Kaundinya, a ship modeled on a fifth-century Ajanta cave painting, has resumed its maiden voyage to Muscat after an initial challenging start. Unfavorable winds and tidal currents pushed the vessel off course in the first 48 hours. However, favorable northeast winds on day four have now set the ship back on track towards its destination, having covered over 200 nautical miles. The voyage aims to retrace ancient maritime trade routes between India and Oman.
